We had a plumbing issue and had to get a plumber. My mother-in-law offered to ask hers if he could help us. The plumber wouldn't give us an exact day or time, but I hoped at least I'd know in advance. So then, another day, my MIL calls me but I was in the bathroom, so I just answered with a quick "I'm in the bathroom" and went to have a shower.

Not 5 minutes later, the bell rings and I go out of the shower (soap in eyes and all) and I say "hello?" but no one answers. I think it must be a salesman or something and go back in the shower. Then, the doorbell to my apartment rings and I hear my MIL's voice. I scream "I'm in the shower!" which, if I was the MIL, I would certainly take it as "now is not a good time, come back later" or something like that. But no. NOT HER!

She proceeds to open the door with the keys my boyfriend gave her. At that point, I'm out of the shower (still not done because of all the interruptions) with just a towel and I see her there with the plumber. I FUCKING LOST IT.

I told her that wasn't OK and that she couldn't just come and open the door as if it was her house. She told me I could continue taking a shower and they would just wait for me. WOW. No fucking privacy and apparently no idea on why it was so wrong to just enter somebody else's house.

I told her hell no. I mean, how hard can it be to make a proper appointment or call two hours or a day in advance?

I didn't let them in.

It was totally unprofessional from the plumber and inconsiderate of her.

Later, she told me that apparently, because I didn't tell her exactly what I was doing in the bathroom, she assumed I was available and she could come.

Seriously. WTF.
